Five Songs That Changed My Life

Five songs that changed my life. In no particular order.

I don’t know if I can explain all of these, so just bare with me.

I could change this list every day, if I let myself. But I’m not going to, so here goes.

1. No Lies, Just Love by Bright Eyes. Truly amazing song. It’s filled with such emotion. I’ve felt like this before, and this song makes it seem... like that’s okay. This song can make me cry. It’s just so amazing. It feels so real.

2. Helena by My Chemical Romance. Don’t you dare laugh. This song was one of my “openings” into my interest in music, and one of the reasons music is such an important part of my life today. Helena is part of the reason that I have a passion for music.

3. Stolen by Dashboard Confessional. Another amazing song. This song is filled with emotion, and though it isn’t sad, it can bring tears to my eyes. Energy just... emenates from every part of this song. It’s infectious and amazing.

4. Octupus’s Garden by The Beatles. This is the first “real” song I remember hearing. I was in Kindergarden when I heard it play- my teacher was a fan of The Beatles. My mom came to pick me up and I asked her about it. I’ve been into The Beatles ever since.

5. Whatsername by Green Day. I became a fan of Green Day after American Idiot was released. This song was always one of my favorite tracks. I always found it interesting because the song wasn’t a sobby, sappy, slow (golly gee, alliteration) love song. However, it still contained emotion; Emotion that came through along with the rock themes.
